General Information

Child Safety Seat Installation

The Frankfort Fire District currently has seven certified child safety seat technicians.

Illinois law requires that all children under the age of 8 be properly restrained in an appropriate child safety seat. All children need to be restrained correctly whenever they ride in a motor vehicle—every trip, every time.

Individual car seat checks are conducted free of charge at Frankfort fire stations by appointment only. Please call  to make an appointment at 815-469-1700.

For more car seat information visit www.buckleupillinois.org

Text Box: All children age 12 and under should ride in the back seat.

The Frankfort Fire Protection District and Aurelio’s Pizza have teamed up to promote Fire Safety. On the second Tuesday of each month, the 10th caller to Aurelio’s Pizza-Frankfort after 5:00 PM could possibly receive a voucher for a free pizza on their next order. Are your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors working properly?

Next Generation Tot Finder New Bedroom door Fire Safety Program

The Tot Finder ® fire safety program is designed to help firefighters recognize a child’s bedroom while performing a primary search of the home during a fire. Designed with the help of both fire educators and firefighters. The front of the stickers are produced on a highly reflective material, while the back is made of special removable adhesive so they can be removed easily when the child no longer occupies that room.

Frankfort Residents can pick up their stickers at Station 1—333 W. Nebraska Street between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. If you are not a Frankfort resident contact your local fire department.

Frankfort Fire District offers a babysitting/latchkey class for children age 9 and up.  Basic child care, Communication, Crime Prevention, Fire Prevention and First Aid are some of the topics covered.

“Safe Haven provider” means any of the following:

A firefighter who is on duty.

An emergency medical technician who is on duty.

A staff member at a health care institution that is classified as a hospital of an outpatient treatment center. For more information go to www.saveabandonedbabies.org
